I will be going to WDW in March! It was up in the air for a little bit due to my sister’s schedule, but we are getting closer to booking flights now so I am pretty sure that the trip is going to happen! I am very excited to be heading back to Walt Disney World. Above is my “can’t wait anticipation face” which makes an appearance anytime I am planning the trip, while I am on the plane, and the entire drive to WDW property from the airport.
I am looking forward to the traditions that we repeat every trip, such as eating a Mickey Premium Ice Cream bar and visiting the Conch Flats General Store at Old Key West. But, I am also looking forward to a few different, and new things we will be trying this trip. So keep reading to hear about the new experiences! And for those that are coming on the trip and reading this blog (my parents, aunt, and grandma; I know my sister does not read it unless I tell her to!), I will be going into more depth about a few of these in our trip newsletter which I am working on.
1. Well first, I need to get to Disney World. The rest of my family will all be flying together, however I have to fly by myself because I don’t go to college very close to home. I have not worked out all the details yet, but I am not too worried since I know Orlando International Airport very well and the Magical Express is easy to take. But, this is my first flight to WDW solo so hopefully everything goes smoothly!
2. Now, on to the fun stuff! We are going to try the new Italian restaurant on the Boardwalk, Trattoria al Forno, one night for dinner. We had an interesting experience at the previous restaurant there with Cat Cora, so I know we are all hoping it will be better than that dinner! The menu, especially the desserts look yummy. And it is also nice to walk around the Boardwalk before and after dinner.
3. After an hour on the phone with Disney Dining, I was able to get us booked for a lunch with an Animal Specialist! We had lunch with an Imagineer a few years ago and enjoyed it very much, as the Imagineer gave us a peek at New Fantasyland. This time, the meal is at Sanaa at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. The Animal Specialist will talk about the animals at the resort and Animal Kingdom and answer any questions we might have. We also get to go up close to a rare tortoise. This meal will also be a nice relaxing break from the sometimes fast paced park running from ride to ride.
4. We are going to be in Epcot during the first week of the Flower and Garden Festival which will be great! Supposedly there is going to be a mini Shakespeare themed garden this year, although I am not exactly sure what this means. As Disney releases more information about the Festival, I will make sure to post it here!
I have started my countdown on my phone and am watching the number of days until the trip decrease.
That’s it for now, and that’s also the last crazy, current photo I will post for a while!
I am participating in the Mickey Monday linkup to head over to www.adventuresbykatie.com and http://www.rungeekrundisney.com/2014/12/the-osborne-family-spectacle-of-dancing.html to read other Disney posts!
