Day 2 was spent entirely in my favorite park, Epcot. We stayed in Future World in the morning and then went over to World Showcase for lunch and part of the afternoon. Yes, my sister and I took a lot of snapchats while in Disney. And yes, Disney does have a lot of amazing snapchat filters so expect to see a few more screenshots before the end of this trip report.
After a quick breakfast in the room we hopped in the car and drove to Epcot. The weather was very nice, but you could tell it was going to get hot mid day. We had Fastpass+ reservations for 10:30 at Soarin’ but we arrived at the park earlier than 10:30. So my dad and my sister went to Guest Relations to get their tickets linked to their Magic Bands while my grandma, aunt and I proceeded into the park while looking at all of the bright colorful flowers. Epcot’s Flower and Garden Festival is always beautiful, especially after seeing nothing but snow for two months. We walked to the Festival Center to see what new merchandise was out and to pick up our Festival passports. These passports allow you to get a stamp when you buy a food item to try at an Outdoor Kitchen and check off which gardens and topiaries you have seen. My dad and sister caught up to us at the Festival Center so then we left to ride Soarin’.
Soarin’ was the first official ride of the trip and it was a lovely flight over California as always. Soarin’ lines can get very long so a Fastpass is definitely recommended. My favorite part of Soarin’ is always going over the water and feeling like my feet are going to be plunged into the river. Thankfully, Soarin’ is not a completely immersive experience of ALL the senses. I would not want to be soaked for the rest of the day.
After Soarin’ we all went on the Land ride which is always a favorite. I enjoy seeing the plants growing inthe greenhouse and sometimes seeing a Mickey shaped pumpkin or two. This trip I noticed the Peanut Butter plant for the first time, which was neat. I would be interested in learning more about it so maybe I’ll take the Behind the Seeds tour next trip.
The Land pavilion is definitely my favorite pavilion. I like how it was designed and the open structure. I also used to think the food court downstairs was awesome. I am not sure why I thought it was so amazing, but I remember always wanting to eat there, even though we did not usually go there.
I had reserved Fastpasses for the Character Spot since we haven’t taken photos with characters in a while so we got on the short line. My aunt, grandma, sister, and I took photos with Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy. After this, we needed a pick-me-up so we went to the new Starbucks Fountain View location in Epcot. My aunt, grandma, and sister all got Starbucks drinks. I only like their hot chocolate, but it was way too warm to have hot chocolate that day. One of my cousins lives in Florida and was going to meet up with us in Epcot for the day with her boyfriend (Shoutout to Sandy and Jonathan). I had been texting her and so they met us outside of Starbucks as we were enjoying the sun. My dad had gone to the front of the park to help my mom link her ticket to her Magic Band as she had woken up late so they quickly joined us as well. After some quick introductions (since this was the first time most of us were meeting my cousin’s boyfriend) we were hungry and decided to head to World Showcase to eat around the Outdoor Kitchens. Part 2 of Day 2 will include the food we tried and more rides!
