My Dad’s Perspective on the “I Just Can’t Wait to Go to Disney” Questions

  1. How do you get extra excited for your Disney trips? I work with the family to plan out and book our meal reservations (most people underestimate how could and varied the cuisine options are at WDW) and research new restaurants, attractions, events that will be open by the time our trip arrives.  We always try to do something new each trip as well.
  2. How do you feel the few days before your vacation? Hectic – the time leading up vacation is always busy trying to tie up loose ends at work so that you can try to disconnect from everything else
  3. What are the things you are most excited about? The first non-alcoholic Pina Colada (and subsequent ones as well) at Old Key West when we first arrive, the weather (unless we are going in August), any new things to experience plus doing things that we have in the past that are fun and relaxing – pontoon boat ride, mickey pops on a bench in MK, sitting and watching street performances in Downtown Disney (oops Disney Springs).
  4. When you see Disney World for the first time of your vacation, how do you react? Always love driving through the welcome gates – it signals the start of vacation and some relaxation and fun ahead.
  5. What do you like to do while  traveling to  Disney? I will generally do puzzles or games and or watch TV if the plane has it available.  Also when we are riding the shuttle from the gates to the terminal I will always annoy the family by saying pay attention we will be riding this shuttle to go back home before you know it (time really does accelerate on vacation).
  6. What do you pack when you go to Disney? I pack lightly and mostly short sleeve shirts and shorts
  7. Do you keep a countdown? I know how far away the vacation is but do not do any formal countdown – the family takes care of that aspect and keeps me informed.
